After the second round of the Cote d'Ivoire national team, which reached the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon advanced thanks to another excellent performance by Samuel Eto'o, eliminating Togo, a participant in the 2006 World Cup. Meanwhile, Angola, also going to Germany this summer, played a goalless draw with DR Congo and found themselves in a difficult situation.

After the overwhelming victory in the first round, the Cameroon national team started the match more actively, but in the first half, despite a few dangerous moments, they couldn't break through the Togo defense.
The first goal of the match could have come immediately after the break, but Geremi's shot hit the opponent's crossbar. In the following attacks, Togo threatened the Cameroon team, but Emmanuel Adebayor failed to beat Cameroon goalkeeper Hamidou Souleymanou.
In the 68th minute, Rudolph Douala passed the ball into the penalty area where, after a mistake by Togo players, Samuel Eto'o had nothing else to do but send it into the net. This was Eto'o's fourth goal in this tournament.
Just five minutes before the end of the match, Eto'o again broke into the penalty area and passed the ball to Albert Ze Meyong, who had just come on as a substitute, to score his first goal for the national team and double the score.
The match ended with a score of 2-0. This means that Cameroon joined Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals, while Togo, which will be playing in the World Cup in Germany this summer, has no chance of advancing further.
Angola 0 - 0 DR Congo
From the start of the match, the Angola national team demonstrated better play and could have taken the lead in the 6th minute, but the shot from captain Akwa hit the opponent's goalkeeper. In the other half of the field, DR Congo forward Lomana Lua Lua was the most active, but he lacked a bit of accuracy.
In the 19th minute, the situation became even more difficult for DR Congo, as Mputo, who shone in the first match against Togo, was sent off for rough play against Kali.
Despite being down to 10 men against 11, DR Congo players did not break and even had a good chance to take the lead, but Lua Lua's shot at the end of the first half was inaccurate.
The second half, like the first, started with attacks from Angola, but their leader Akwa could not beat the opponent's goalkeeper, so despite dominating the match, the Angola team had to settle for a draw.
This means that in order to advance to the next stage, Angola must now defeat the Togo national team and hope for a favorable result in the next group match, while the DR Congo team, having earned 4 points in two matches, is in a much better position and almost has a ticket to the quarterfinals.
