Madrid's "Real" football players are not willing to give up the Champions League crown. After the victory in the quarterfinals against Madrid's "Atletico" (1:0) on Wednesday night, "Real" coach Carlo Ancelotti said he never doubted that his team would reach the semifinals.
"We wanted to control the course of the game, keep the ball longer, and create dangerous opportunities without pressing the opponents. We had to be concentrated and solid when the opponents took corners or penalty kicks. In every aspect, we played as I expected," said the Italian.
"Chicharito played a very good match. He had no shortage of passion, desire to fight, and selflessness. This season he suffered a lot because he rarely played. But in the end, he scored a very important goal for the team. He never gave up, and that eventually bore fruit," praised the coach the Mexican.
According to Ancelotti, it doesn't matter who they play against in the semifinal stage.
"I respect all three teams that have reached the semifinals. Whatever the fate decides, it will be fine. All three teams deserve to play in the semifinals."
