The head coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, admits that Angel Di Maria is different from James Rodriguez, but he is certainly not worse.
Last summer, the "white team" lost one of the main pillars of the previous season, A. Di Maria, who moved to Manchester United for 75 million euros. Almost the same amount cost the Colombian player who shone at the World Cup for Real Madrid.
"James is not Di Maria," the 55-year-old Italian revealed to journalists. "He is a different player and has different playing qualities."
"For this reason, he is in the main lineup. I hope that with his different qualities he will help our team.
Both players have different technical qualities. I am satisfied with James, as he is responsible and takes his work seriously," Ancelotti concluded.
This season, A. Di Maria scored one goal in three games played, while J. Rodriguez appeared 11 times and scored three goals.
