“Aston Villa” officially said goodbye to Steven Gerrard and will start searching for a new coach immediately.
It is reported that among the main candidates to take over the helm of the Birmingham club are the following coaches: Sean Dyche, Ruben Amorim (Sporting), and Thomas Frank (Brentford).
According to the English media, “Villa” had ambitious plans to attract Thomas Tuchel or Mauricio Pochettino, but these coaches politely declined the offer.
Aston Villa has already started talking to Sporting coach Ruben Amorim.
The Portugal native led his Lisbon team to the title in the Portuguese league in 2020-21 after a long time. Last season, the team reached the Champions League knockout stages.
