Candidates for the Best Safe of the Year Award Revealed

On Friday, FIFA revealed the list of candidates vying for the best trio of midfielders in the world in 2014.

The list is dominated by the safeties of Madrid's "Real" and Turin's "Juventus". They are Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, James Rodriguez, Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo, and Arturo Vidal.

Also featured are names such as Angel Di Maria ("Man Utd"), Xavi, Andres Iniesta (both from "Barcelona"), Xabi Alonso, Bastian Schweinsteiger (both from "Bayern"), and Mesut Ozil ("Arsenal").

Last year, three midfielders made it to the best eleven - Xavi, Andres Iniesta, and Franck Ribery.
