On Tuesday evening in the first "Carabao" Cup semi-final match, "Newcastle" defeated "Southampton" with a score of 1:0 in an away game.
In the first half, neither team managed to score, and the players went into halftime with the scoreboard showing zeros.
The only goal of the match came in the 73rd minute. Substitute "Magpies" forward Alexander Isak made a great run and finished it by "putting the ball on a plate" for Joelinton, who sent it into the empty net.
The "Saints" managed to score just a few minutes later, but Stuart Armstrong's goal was disallowed after a VAR review.
The second leg will take place at "Newcastle" team's stadium on January 31.
