Carlos Tevez confirmed: "I want to leave Man City" © EuroFootball.com

Argentinian helped the Manchester team to achieve third place in the English championship last season and - for the first time in history - a ticket to the Champions League tournament. However, the footballer could not endure the distance separating him from his two daughters.

"I need to be closer to them, spend more time together," said Tevez. "Living without children in Manchester was an extremely big challenge. Everything I do is for my daughters. I need them to be happy, because I live for them. I have to be where they can adapt. I hope people understand the conditions under which I lived for the past 12 months."

He continued: "I always gave my all on the field and helped the team achieve great results. I have great respect for this club, fans, and supporters - all of their behavior was respectful."

Last season, Tevez scored 23 goals in 39 matches.
