Former Manchester clubs striker Carlos Tevez jokingly remembered his time playing in the highest football league in China and simply stated that he is happy to be back in Argentina.
The 33-year-old striker decided to leave Boca Juniors in 2016 and soon after became a free agent, signing a contract with Shanghai Shenhua, who reportedly paid him an annual salary of 33 million euros.
When asked by Argentine television about his time in China, the footballer replied: "It was a seven-month vacation in China."
"I understand the criticism from the Shenhua coach and president towards me, but I really don't know why I decided to play there", continued the Argentine.
After his so-called "vacation", Tevez returned to Boca Juniors, which he also unexpectedly left, just like the Chinese club, and received a not-so-great reaction from the fans.
"I know that many people were shocked by my decision, but I understand them. I simply felt at that time that I was not 100 percent ready to play. I know I hurt the fans, but now they will see a different me", Tevez concluded.
