On Tuesday, rumors spread in the Catalan media that Ernesto Valverde will no longer coach the "Barcelona" team next season.
According to RAC1 radio, the Catalan club may announce officially in the next few hours or days about E. Valverde's departure.
E. Valverde extended his contract with "Barca" in the second half of this season, but the painful failure in the UEFA Champions League and the loss in the King's Cup final raised serious doubts in the club's management.
The source also emphasizes that at the moment the Catalan club is negotiating with the Belgian national team coach Roberto Martinez, whom they see as one of the main candidates to replace E. Valverde.
It is added that along with R. Martinez, Thierry Henry, who was previously released from "Monaco" but has worked with the mentioned strategist before, would also join the coaching staff.
According to other sources, other candidates in the sights of "Barca" are Quique Setien, Erik ten Hag, and Massimiliano Allegri.
