Glasgow team player, one of the heroes of the match between "Celtic" and Barcelona, goalkeeper David Marshall has extended his contract with the Scottish club for four years.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper had to take to the field in the UEFA Cup quarter-final match against Barcelona after the main team goalkeeper Rab Douglas received a red card and was sent off. Marshall, who came on as a replacement, excellently guarded the goal and helped the team snatch a 1-0 victory. The goalkeeper also defended his team's goal in the return match, which ended 0-0, securing a spot in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals due to the victory in the first leg, where they will face a team from Scotland.
The team's coach, Martin O'Neill, told journalists that after the 0-0 draw in Barcelona, Marshall's teammates applauded him standing up, and the team's leader, Swede Henrik Larsson, talked about the young goalkeeper: "I think he is just too young to worry and understand what a gigantic job he did. He played impressively from the first minute of the match."
