The leader of the Scottish "Premier" league, Glasgow "Celtic," continues on their path to the championship title - on Sunday in the city derby, "Celtic" won for the third time in a row this season against "Rangers" and increased their lead against the closest pursuers to 13 points.

This was the last derby at the "Ibrox" stadium, led by Alex McLeish of the "Rangers" team. The latter announced a few days ago that he would step down from his position in the summer. It is believed that he will most likely be replaced by former "Lyon" strategist Paul Le Guen, and these rumors were further fueled by the fact that the match was observed by the French coach's assistant, Yves Colleu.
However, the guests did not see anything good, as the nervously playing "Rangers" conceded a goal after the first dangerous attack from the opponents - after a scuffle in the penalty area, the ball bounced to the Polish player Maciej Zurawski, who scored with a precise shot past the home team's goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus.
Although "Celtic" dominated in the first quarter, "Rangers" later recovered and had a good chance to equalize, but Thomas Buffel confused two defenders and instead of shooting at goal, unsuccessfully tried to pass the ball to his teammate Nacho Novo.
In the second half, "Rangers" players controlled the game, but they struggled to break through the opponents' defense. One of the better chances after a free-kick was for the home team's defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos, but he headed the ball wide of the goal.
Later, "Celtic" defender Bobo Balde netted his team's second goal with his heel, but the referee disallowed it for a foul on the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, at the end of the match, "Rangers" failed to capitalize on another great opportunity - Martin Andrews' shot was saved by the goalkeeper, and Dado Prso's attempt to clear the ball to a teammate was inaccurate.
After victories in league and cup matches in November, this was the third consecutive win for "Celtic" in the famous Glasgow derby, as "Rangers" only defeated their opponents at home at the beginning of the season. In the league table, both Glasgow clubs are now separated by 21 points.
