Twice world champion with the US women's national soccer team Carli Lloyd surprised by saying she seriously considers debuting in American football (NFL).
"I want to try it. I want to put on a helmet, pads, and see what it looks like from the inside," C. Lloyd told ESPN.
A video clip of C. Lloyd converting a 55-yard (50.3 m) field goal at a Philadelphia Eagles practice has already appeared online.
If she achieves this goal, C. Lloyd would become the first woman NFL player. The footballer said that two teams offered her to play in pre-season games, but so far they have not reached an agreement.
Last summer, C. Lloyd turned 37. She plans to end her football career after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but she said she is open to offers from the NFL.
