The German publication "Der Spiegel" provided more information about the plans of the major European clubs.
The media, relying on "Football Leaks," wrote that the most famous teams on the Old Continent are planning to establish a Super League tournament, with the first matches scheduled for 2021.
The championship will feature 16 teams - 11 clubs will have permanent spots and won't be able to be relegated for 20 years, while another five teams will be temporary.
The main founders are named as Madrid's "Real," "Barcelona," Turin's "Juventus," "Milan," "Man Utd," "Man City," "Liverpool," London's "Arsenal," "Chelsea," Munich's "Bayern," and Paris's "Saint Germain" clubs.
The invited teams would be Madrid's "Atletico," Dortmund's "Borussia," "Marseille," Milan's "Inter," and "Roma."
There is a possibility of establishing a weaker second league, where the top five teams would have the opportunity to enter the Super League by playing against the bottom teams of this championship. This would also avoid violating European Union laws, as the league would remain open.
It is not yet clear whether the Super League will replace the Champions League competitions and whether the participants will withdraw from their domestic championships.
