Champions League - impressive victories of favorites and five goals by L. Adriano (VIDEO)

After a break, the UEFA Champions League returned with eight group stage matches played on Tuesday.

The first match took place in Moscow, where CSKA hosted Manchester City players on their field. In a packed stadium, Manuel Pellegrini led his team to victory with his own hands.

The first goal for "The Citizens" was scored by Sergio Aguero, who found the back of the net after a great pass from Edin Dzeko. It didn't take long for another goal, as James Milner increased the lead in the 38th minute.

In the second half, CSKA players put up a fight. In the 65th minute, Seydou Doumbia beat Joe Hart. The hosts continued to play aggressively and equalized in the 86th minute through Bibras Natcho.

In Group E, Manchester City still remains winless with only 2 points. This was the first point for the Moscow club in three matches.

In other matches in the group, there was a goal fiesta. Roma surprisingly suffered a humiliating 1-7 defeat against Bayern Munich at their own stadium.

The Bavarians had a field day with players like Arjen Robben, Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Franck Ribery, and Xherdan Shaqiri all contributing to the scoring. Gervinho scored a consolation goal for the hosts.

There was also a shocking result at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea crushed Maribor 6-0. In the same group, the clash between Schalke and Sporting Lisbon also ended in a high-scoring 4-3 victory for Roberto Di Matteo's team.

BATE Borisov also suffered a heavy defeat against Donetsk's Shakhtar. The match was not a simple rout, as Luiz Adriano managed to score five goals for the Ukrainian team.

In Group F, Barcelona secured an easy 3-1 win against Ajax, with goals from Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Sandro Ramirez.

Paris Saint-Germain also claimed an impressive victory, defeating APOEL 1-0 with Edinson Cavani scoring the only goal.
