Champions League qualifiers - "Celtic" crash © EuroFootball.com

In the UEFA Champions League, a sensation was recorded after playing the first matches of the second qualifying round - Glasgow's "Celtic" suffered one of the most humiliating defeats in the club's history in Slovakia, losing to "Artmedia Petržalka" with a five-goal margin.

At the beginning of the match in Bratislava, one of the team leaders, Chris Sutton, suffered an injury, which seemed to give the Slovaks more confidence in their abilities, as they broke through in the end of the first half.

After the break, the hosts doubled their lead, later scoring two more goals within three minutes, and the last fifth goal was scored at the end of the match. For "Celtic" coach Gordon Strachan, these were the first matches where he led the team, and if a miracle does not happen in Scotland, the Glasgow club will have to shamefully withdraw from the Champions League.

There were more surprises - Famagusta's "Anorthosis" defeated Turkish "Trabzonspor" 3-1 at home, achieving one of the best results in Cypriot football history, Kyiv's "Dynamo" played a draw at home with Switzerland's "Thun", and Moscow's "Lokomotiv" avoided defeat against "Rabotnicki" in Skopje in the last minute.
