Champions League qualifying - clash of strong Spanish and Italian clubs

UEFA Champions League - the final stage of the qualifying matches. Even some very famous European clubs do not yet have a ticket to the group stage. The first matches of the fourth qualifying stage will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Particular interest is raised by the match between "Napoli" and Bilbao "Athletic". These and three other matches will be shown on the "Viasat Sport Baltic" channel.

In the previous Italian championship, Napoli finished third and played in the Champions League group stage in the 2013-2014 season. The team led by Spaniard Rafa Benitez collected the same points as Dortmund's "Borussia" and London's "Arsenal", but due to poorer results in head-to-head matches, the Italian team missed out on the knockout stages.

The Bilbao club has not played in the Champions League group stage since the 1998-1999 season. In the 2013-2014 Spanish championship, the Basque team finished fourth.

On Tuesday, Istanbul's "Besiktas" will host Arsenal players. The Turkish team does not promise an easy game for the "gunners". "Besiktas" finished third in the Turkish championship last season and nearly overtook the famous "Galatasaray" club. "Besiktas" convincingly eliminated the powerful Dutch club Feyenoord in the third round of the Champions League qualifying stage with a total score of 5:2.

On Wednesday, the relationships will be clarified between the teams that finished third in the French and Portuguese leagues last season, "Lille" and "Porto". In the next match, the Belgian and Russian vice-champions, Liege's "Standard" and St. Petersburg's "Zenit", will compete.
