Telšiai "Džiugas" for the first time will start a professional career with a representative of youth teams.

In the 2024 season in Telšiai, we will see the 17-year-old youth team representative Orlandas Jakas playing. Telšiai will be the player's first professional team.

Orlandas has been living in Ireland with his parents since the age of 3, but he has Samogitian blood, as his parents come from Telšiai.

The player has represented the "Shamrock Rovers" U-19 team and has been called up to the Lithuanian youth teams. He also had the opportunity to represent the Irish U-16 team in 2021.

Orlandas usually plays in the position of right-back.

O. Jakas chose to play for the Lithuanian youth team a year ago. In March 2024, he will participate with the team in the U-19 European Championship qualification elite stage.

The club is delighted to have a player who has Samogitian and Irish blood, with a physique based on both, a spirit and passion for football. The club is also proud to have invited not only a promising player, who has a great opportunity to start a professional career, but also a young man who will strengthen the Samogitian language, get to know Lithuania and our culture more.

This season, we will no longer see the Italian Simone Moschino with Telšiai "Džiugas" club jerseys.

The goalkeeper joined the team in the summer of the 2023 season and managed to play 15 matches in the "TOPsport A League". He also excelled in the penalty shootout of the LFF Cup quarterfinals. The player undoubtedly became a prominent figure in the matches and a great friend of the team off the pitch.

The club thanks S. Moschino for his significant contribution to the team's results and wishes him the greatest success in the new club and in his career in the future.

The long-time team player Adomas Mika says goodbye to the Telšiai team after eight years.

A. Mika joined the team in 2016, when it was playing in the "TOPsport First League" at that time. In 2019, wearing the "Džiugas" jerseys, he won the first place with the team and has been playing in the highest Lithuanian league since the 2021 season.

In the last season of the "TOPsport A League" championship, A. Mika appeared on the field 27 times. In addition, in the autumn, the player played his 200th match wearing burgundy jerseys.
