In the "Premier League" of England, Saturday evening saw the games of the 18th round.
The first match took place in Leicester, where the local "Leicester City" hosted "Crystal Palace". The guests from London unexpectedly defeated the "foxes" with a score of 3-0, who have recently been demonstrating excellent gameplay.
Christian Benteke put "Crystal Palace" ahead in the 19th minute, and Wilfried Zaha increased the lead in the 40th minute. The hosts were left playing with ten men in the 61st minute and Bakary Sako sealed the deal in added time.
"Leicester" ended their four-game winning streak and had to accept defeat. With 26 points, the "foxes" still occupy the eighth position, while "Crystal Palace" climbed out of the bottom and now sits in 14th place.
In other matches, London's "Chelsea" achieved a narrow victory at home. Marcos Alonso's penalty kick in the final minute of the first half secured the win against "Southampton".
In another match, London's "Arsenal" returned to the path of victory. Arsene Wenger's team also won with a goal advantage against "Newcastle", with Mesut Ozil scoring an impressive strike.
The remaining matches ended in a draw between "Brighton" and "Burnley", and a victory for "Huddersfield" against "Watford". Due to electrical problems, the match between "West Ham" and "Stoke City" was slightly postponed, with West Ham winning 3-0.
