The club may receive support in trying to acquire the young Brazilian football talent Robinho.

The director of the Portuguese club, Jose Veigas, stated that "Benfica" does not have enough money to buy the twenty-year-old forward. "Chelsea" club could intervene here, buying the player from the "Santos" club and then loaning him to "Benfica" for a season or two.

"I don't know if "Chelsea" intends to do that, but we would welcome it," said Jose Veigas.

"Santos" is asking for approximately ten million euros for the talented player and is willing to sell him as soon as a similar offer is received.
