Reports are surfacing in various foreign media outlets that London's "Chelsea" is nearing an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Jorginho and coach Maurizio Sarri from "Napoli."
The 26-year-old footballer has long been pursued by "Manchester City," and the president of the Italian club, Aurelio De Laurentiis, admitted to accepting the "citizens'" offer. However, it seems that the Brazilian-born Italian himself would prefer to move to the English capital.
Meanwhile, Sarri has already been replaced at the helm of Napoli by Carlo Ancelotti, but negotiations regarding his potential coaching of the "blues" are still ongoing.
"We said that if Jorginho has any requests, we will take them into consideration," De Laurentiis said.
"I accepted Manchester City's offer 15 days ago, but I have to apologize to them."
"I can understand if the player would want to move to London rather than Manchester, and if Chelsea were to pay him more."
"Jorginho's transfer to Chelsea is unrelated to Sarri."
In the still-valid coach's contract with Napoli, there is a £7 million release clause, so efforts are now being made to settle this particular issue.
"His situation is now in the final phase. It depends on him," added De Laurentiis.
"We will see what happens in the next few hours. My lawyers have sent a text to his lawyers."
