"Chelsea" defeated "Newcastle" away after a tough fight

At 6 o'clock, two more matches of the 3rd round were played in the English Premier League.

In a rainy Newcastle, the local team met London's Chelsea. In the end of the match, goals poured in and Maurizio Sarri's team secured their third victory this season.

Rafa Benitez's team's game plan was clear from the beginning of the match - the "Magpies" played with a line of five defenders, so Chelsea had to distribute the ball in the midfield for a long and boring period.

After the first half, the scoreboard showed two zeros, so all the action moved to the next 45 minutes.

The "Blues" got tired as needed to break the host's defense. However, in the 76th minute, Marcos Alonso was unlawfully stopped in the penalty area and Eden Hazard stepped up to take the penalty kick. The Belgian's foot did not tremble and the result became 1:0.

It seemed that this match would end in a draw, but in the 83rd minute, Newcastle unexpectedly equalized when Joselu's header left no chance for Kepa. The episode caused a lot of discussions, as DeAndre Yedlin hit Olivier Giroud in the face with his elbow before the pass, but the referee did not notice the foul.

The "Magpies" were ready to secure this result, but Chelsea had different plans and in the 87th minute, D. Yedlin accidentally scored an own goal when Marcos Alonso's shot after a set piece was directed towards the opponent's goal.

Chelsea won their third consecutive victory and now shares the top spot with Liverpool and Watford.

In the other matches, London's Fulham secured their first victory by defeating Burnley 4-2. The highlight of the match was Jean-Michael Seri's goal from about 30 meters away.
