Chelsea will seek to strengthen their defensive line in the winter transfer window in London.

David Ornstein from The Athletic reports that the main target for the aristocrats in the position of a central defender is Benoit Badiashile.

Chelsea is currently holding active negotiations with AS Monaco for the acquisition of the 21-year-old defender. The transfer fee could reach 35 million euros.

D. Ornstein also adds that the London club has pulled out of negotiations with Leipzig for the acquisition of Josko Gvardiol. The price of the 20-year-old star who shone in the World Cup seems too high for the Premier League club, despite an agreement on personal terms.

Chelsea is also scouting two promising Bundesliga defenders: Eintracht Frankfurt's Evan N'Dicka and Bayer representative Piero Hincapie.
