On Tuesday evening, seven intriguing matches of the 23rd round were played in the English "Premier" League.
The most interesting match of the round took place at "Anfield" stadium, where "Liverpool" hosted London's "Chelsea" footballers. Antonio Conte's players enjoyed the advantage for a long time after David Luiz's penalty kick, but the "Reds" managed to equalize in the second half.
Jurgen Klopp's players, as usual, demonstrated high pressing from the start of the match and "Chelsea" had almost no chances in the first 10 minutes. In the 76th minute, a decisive goal could have been scored, but Diego Costa failed to convert a penalty kick - it was saved by Simon Mignolet who made up for his earlier mistake.
"Chelsea" remains the unbeatable leader with 56 points and increased their advantage over the closest pursuers to 9 points. "Liverpool" fell behind by 10 points.
Both London's "Tottenham" and "Arsenal" had the opportunity to capitalize on "Chelsea's" draw, but the North London clubs failed to win their matches. Arsene Wenger's "Gunners" unexpectedly lost at home to "Watford," while the "Spurs" were unable to defeat the league's absolute bottom team "Sunderland" on the road.
Other matches ended in draws between "Crystal Palace," "Burnley," "Swansea," and "Middlesbrough" against "West Brom."
