The negotiations for Enzo Fernandez between the teams of “Chelsea” and “Benfica” reached a transfer deadline, but not the one desired by the London club.
“TyC Sports” journalist Cesar Luis Merlo announced that the negotiations between the clubs failed because the “aristocrats” offered an inadequate amount for the 21-year-old Argentinean.
The “Benfica” club aimed to receive the full release clause amount - which was set at 127 million euros.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that “Chelsea” offered 85 million euros to the Lisbon club.
The World Cup revelation also attracted interest from “Liverpool”, “Manchester United”, and “Real” clubs, but now there is a possibility that he will remain in Portugal until the end of the season.
