On Sunday, the 36th round ended in the English Premier League.
It was concluded with very important matches between the clubs Manchester United and Chelsea from London. At the "Old Trafford" stadium, neither of the teams' fans saw a winner - the match ended in a draw.
Because of the draw, the Chelsea team didn't have to be too sad, as they are currently in the fight for the fourth ticket to the UEFA Champions League.
The match didn't promise anything good for the guests from London - in the 11th minute, the "Red Devils" took the lead, when Luke Shaw, who had sprinted excellently and cut into the opponent's penalty area, found Juan Mata unmarked, and he sent the ball into the net, putting the hosts in front.
After a fairly quick goal, it wasn't easy for the Chelsea team to fix the situation - Man Utd had more control over the ball, and most of Chelsea's attacks towards the opponents' goal ended with harmless shots.
In the 43rd minute, Antonio Rudiger added some improvisation to his game and delighted the Chelsea fans - the defender unleashed a powerful shot from about 30 meters, which David De Gea managed to push away, but failed to secure the ball, and Marcos Alonso was the first to equalize.
In the second half, there was more fighting in the middle of the field than near the penalty area. Both teams played quite cautiously, which led to several pauses that slowed down the pace of the match.
In the final moments of the match, Gonzalo Higuain could have secured a win for the guests from London, but once again, the Man Utd team was saved by De Gea, who blocked his fifth shot.
Chelsea, in fourth place, increased their advantage over Arsenal to two points. Meanwhile, Man Utd is three points behind the top four, so their chances of playing in the Champions League next season are quite slim.
Result:
Man Utd 1 - 1 Chelsea
11' [1 - 0] J. Mata
43' [1 - 1] M. Alonso
