"Bayer" Leverkusen sniper Javier Hernandez will be forced to miss the beginning of the "Bundesliga" season as he fell down the stairs at home.
The Mexican will be out for two weeks due to injury and has joined his injured teammate Lars Bender.
"Bayer" will play against Monchengladbach without Bender and Chicharito in the Bundesliga opener this Saturday," the official club statement reads.
"Captain Bender returned with a foot injury after the Olympic final between Germany and Brazil and underwent MRI scans on Tuesday morning."
"Chicharito fell down the stairs at his home on Monday night and broke his right hand bone. He underwent successful surgery on Tuesday."
"He will also miss Saturday's match and his rehabilitation period, like Bender's, will last at least two weeks."
Last season, Chicharito scored 17 goals in 28 Bundesliga matches.
