Marco Verratti and Dani Ceballos failed to acquire "Barcelona" and continue desperately trying to lure 28-year-old Paulinho.
Paulinho, a member of the Brazilian national team and belonging to the "Guangzhou Evergrande" club, seriously caught the attention of the Catalan team this summer. Initially, "Barca" offered 18 million euros for the midfielder, but both this and the latest offer were rejected.
Paulinho, in an interview, once again stated that he would not refuse the opportunity to join "Barcelona," but emphasized that the Catalans will have to try harder in negotiations with his current club.
"I am not a hypocrite - I am a rational thinker. I think a lot about 'Barcelona,' but as far as I know, there is a 40 million euro release clause in my contract, and 'Barca's' offer of 20 million euros was rejected by the club," said Paulinho.
"My agent said that new negotiations have started. The biggest footballers don't even talk about their possible transfers, but that's something I can definitely confirm," concluded the midfielder.
