CL: "Bayern" took revenge on PSG team, "Atletico" to continue season in Europa League (VIDEO)

On Tuesday evening, the stage of the A-D groups in the UEFA Champions League concluded with the last eight matches being played. The most intriguing match took place at the "Allianz" stadium, where Munich's "Bayern" tried to bounce back after a painful defeat against Paris Saint-Germain. The revenge was achieved - the Bavarians defeated their opponents with a score of 3-1, but PSG remained in the first position due to goal difference. Bayern needed to win by a margin of at least four goals to remain in the first position on the tournament table. Such a result was hard to expect, but it was important for Bayern to bounce back after a humbling defeat in Paris. In the 8th minute, Robert Lewandowski put the hosts ahead, and in the 37th minute, Corentin Tolisso increased the lead after a fantastic pass from James Rodriguez. However, the opponents from France started the second half with a much more threatening game, and in the 50th minute, Kylian Mbappe scored a goal after a header from Edinson Cavani. Nevertheless, Bayern did not falter after the opponents' attack, and in the 69th minute, they secured the victory with a double by C. Tolisso after a great run from Kingsley Coman. In the other matches of this group, Brussels's "Anderlecht" secured their first victory in this group stage, but still remained in the last place, while "Celtic" entered the Europa League. In group A, "Manchester United" narrowly defeated Moscow's CSKA at home, who were fighting for the second position. The Russians were leading after the first half, but Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford turned the game around with a 2-1 victory. In another match in this group, "Basel" defeated Lisbon's "Benfica" with a score of 2-0 and advanced to the 16 strongest European clubs. In group C, Madrid's "Atletico" did not create miracles, and "Roma" also did not lose unexpected points against "Qarabag". Diego Simeone's team drew with London's "Chelsea" at Stamford Bridge and remained in the third position, which led the Spanish capital's team to the Europa League tournament. "Roma" won at home with a minimal difference against the Azerbaijani club, and after those matches, which ended in a draw, "Chelsea" pushed into the first position. In the last group D, there were no surprises - "Barcelona" and Turin's "Juventus" both won their matches with an identical score of 2-0. Juventus secured the second place and will play in the quarter-finals. The Catalan club already secured their ticket to the next stage earlier. Results: Group A "Benfica" 0 - 2 "Basel" 5' [0 - 1] M.
