CL: In Seville - De Gea's show and a goalless draw, "Shakhtar" crushes "Roma" (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

On Wednesday evening, the first round of the UEFA Champions League knockout stage ended, with the remaining two matches being played.

The most attention was drawn to the match in Spain, where Sevilla hosted Manchester United. The Andalusians were much more threatening, but thanks to David De Gea, the "Red Devils" managed to play out a goalless draw.

The first half began with Sevilla dominating. The English visitors struggled to transition from defense to offense, but Sevilla also found it difficult to penetrate the opponent's defense.

Luis Muriel had two real chances to score at the end of the first half, but David De Gea made sure his team did not fall behind - the Spaniard saved two phenomenal shots and the score remained 0-0.

In the second half, the action was more or less similar - the Andalusians pressed the opponents, created chances, but could not find the back of the net.

At the end of the match, Manchester United showed a bit more activity. The hosts began to tire, and Rashford and Martial tried to make life difficult for the opponents. However, they failed to create more dangerous chances and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Much more action took place in Ukraine, where Shakhtar Donetsk recovered from a conceded goal and secured a 2-1 victory against Roma.

The visitors from Italy were ahead thanks to a brilliant talent from Turkey, Cengiz Under, who scored in the 41st minute.

However, Shakhtar tried to equalize in the second half and found the tying goal in the 52nd minute. The winning goal of the match was scored by Fred in the middle of the half.

Both pairs will play the return matches on March 13th.
