CL: "Real" collapsed at the end of the match, "Lyon" punished "Juventus"

On Wednesday evening, the last two first round matches of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals were played. This time the action moved to Madrid and Lyon. The main event of the week took place at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium - Madrid's "Real" hosted the footballers of "Manchester City". The match, which started quite calmly, ended in a series of unexpected events and a 1-2 defeat for "Real". In the first half, the "white team" dominated possession, but it was the visitors from Manchester who created the more dangerous chances. However, neither team managed to score. In the second half, "Real" took the lead when Isco scored in the 60th minute after a pass from Vinicius Junior. "Real" had several opportunities to score a second goal, but then the match took a different turn. In the 78th minute, Gabriel Jesus equalized the score, staying behind Sergio Ramos and sending the ball into Thibaut Courtois' goal. "Real's" problems did not end there - in the 83rd minute, Dani Carvajal made an incomprehensible mistake in the penalty area and a penalty kick was awarded to the hosts. Kevin De Bruyne successfully converted it, disappointing almost the entire "Bernabeu" stadium. Madrid's team suffered another blow in the 86th minute, when after a mistake by Casemiro, Sergio Ramos, who had to deal with Gabriel Jesus, made a last-minute mistake and received a red card. "Real" remained with ten players and lost their team captain before the return match. In other matches, "Lyon" unexpectedly defeated Turin's "Juventus". The goal scored by Luca Tousart in the 31st minute determined the victory for the Lyon team. The second leg matches of both pairs will take place on March 17th.
