CL: "Roma" overcame CSKA after a fierce fight, "Valencia" enjoyed their first victory

On Wednesday at 19:55, the first two matches of the second round in groups G and H of the UEFA Champions League were played.

Moscow's CSKA, which had already defeated Real Madrid this season, hosted Roma at home. The hosts put up a good fight against the Italians, but having gained a quantitative advantage, the "Romans" secured a victory with a score of 2:1.

In the 4th minute, Kostas Manolas took advantage of Igor Akinfeev's uncertain run out of the goal and scored a header into the opponent's goal.

At the beginning of the second half, CSKA managed to get back into the game, as Arnor Sigurdsson equalized the score in the 50th minute. However, just a few minutes later, the Moscow team suffered a setback when the scorer of that goal, the Honduran Magnusson, was sent off for a second yellow card.

Roma did not hesitate to take advantage - expertly avoiding tackles in the penalty area, Lorenzo Pellegrini scored the winning goal in the 59th minute.

Leading in first place, "Roma" gained a three-point advantage over "Real". CSKA has four points to their name.

In the other matches, "Valencia" finally achieved their first victory of the season. "Young Boys" fell 3-1 against the Spaniards on the road.

Although the Swiss team had equalized the score, two goals from Santi Mina and one from Carlos Soler sealed the victory for the "Bats". Following the win, "Valencia" climbed to second place, leaving "Man Utd" behind.
