Every summer, the most powerful European clubs are ready to spend huge amounts of money to maintain their capabilities. At the top of the list of the richest teams for several seasons now are the names of English and Spanish teams, so it is not surprising that they have spent the most money on new player purchases in this age. It has been calculated that since the 2000/2001 season, all competitors have been surpassed by the London "Chelsea" team. Since Roman Abramovich became the owner of the team, the "Blues" have often shaken the market and have already spent 2.4 billion euros. Second place went to "Man City" (2.3 billion), followed by Madrid's "Real" (2.2 billion) in third place. Also in the top five are "Barcelona" (2.2 billion) and Turin's "Juventus" (2.1 billion) teams.
