Coach of the Greek national team: Lithuania - more dangerous than Latvia (possible line-ups) © EuroFootball.com

Greek national team coach Fernando Santos is wary of the Lithuanian national team, with whom his players will play a World Cup qualifying match in Group G in Piraeus on Tuesday.

Over the weekend, the Greeks defeated our neighbor Latvia 2-1 in Riga, but they consider Lithuania a stronger opponent.

"Based on what I have seen, the Lithuanians play similarly to the Latvians, but they are more dangerous," said Santos. "It is a team that knows how to counterattack quickly - there are four or five such players. Therefore, we must be focused and ready to defend when necessary."

He continued: "We must control the game and take the initiative. I am glad that over the past two years, we have become a team that wants to play with the ball, create opportunities, and score goals. Of course, we will be missing the injured George Samaras, but no individual player is more important than the team. We will find a solution."

When asked how he views the comments of Lithuanian national team representatives that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the favorite in the group, the specialist said: "This should inspire us to prove everything on the field even more. We must give our all, and the margin of victory does not matter."
