n May 20, the ten-weekend family football tournament "Coca-Cola Weekend League" will begin. The football tour across Lithuania, where family teams can participate, is announced for the second year in a row by the event organizers "Coca-Cola", the Lithuanian Football Federation, the Center for Public Health Education, and this year the "Nike" company has also joined the project. The long-time goalkeeper of the Lithuania national football team Raimondas Žutautas became the patron of the "Weekend League" as he did last year.

This year, children and adults will be able to play football for 10 Saturdays - from May 20 to July 22. "Coca-Cola Weekend League" invites family teams to play in Vilnius (May 20 and 27), Kaunas (June 3 and 10), Alytus (June 17), Marijampolė (June 24), Panevėžys (July 2 and 8), and Klaipėda (July 15 and 22).

Anyone who forms a team of 2 adults and 3 children (up to 14 years old) can participate in the "Weekend League". Participants can already register for the event online (www.coca-cola.lt) or by calling for free (8 800 26533).

"Last year, the event received great interest from families in all 6 cities where it took place, so this year there will be even more football weekends than last year," says Jorūnė Juodžbalytė, Public Relations and Communications Manager at UAB "Coca-Cola HBC Lithuania". "The Weekend League has become a beautiful tradition, giving parents and their children the opportunity to spend time together in nature, move, and experience good impressions," she notes.

According to the President of the Lithuanian Football Federation Liutauras Varanavičius, as well as last year, the "Weekend League" will invite participants to play football in major Lithuanian stadiums, with professional referees overseeing the matches. "It's great that this year all Lithuanian families will unite for the Coca-Cola Weekend League football tournament. We would like to believe that family football tournaments, popular all over the world, will flourish here as well," said L. Varanavičius.

According to the patron of the "Coca-Cola Weekend League" Raimondas Žutautas, in the West, he has often seen families and friends spending weekends playing football. "It's great that such traditions are being created in Lithuania as well, and I am happy to contribute to that," says the longtime national team goalkeeper. "It is difficult to think of a better way to spend the weekend with family."

The importance of movement is also emphasized by the sponsor of the "Weekend League" Zenonas Javtokas, Director of the Center for Public Health Education. "Physical activity improves not only well-being but also helps to avoid diseases and improves the functioning of all body systems," he says.

This year, tournament participants will play football with branded balls from the "Nike" company, each tournament participant will receive a special "Coca-Cola Weekend League" diploma, and during the event, participants will be able to quench their thirst with refreshing drinks from "Coca-Cola".

Last year, in the first "Coca-Cola Weekend League" football tour across Lithuania lasting 6 weekends, more than 700 children and adults participated, divided into 120 teams. The most active team last year was the "Viesulų" team from Alytus, not missing a single friendly league match.
