Concern in the football community: the new recruit of "Cardiff" flew on a missing plane

On Tuesday morning, reports appeared in the media that a "Piper Malibu" aircraft flying to Cardiff had disappeared with Cardiff City's new signing Emiliano Sala on board.

BBC reports that the footballer, along with another crew member, took off from Nantes on Monday evening and was supposed to reach Cardiff. However, at 20:30 local time near the Channel Islands, communication with the pilot of the aircraft was lost.

It is reported that the pilot, flying at 5000 feet, contacted the Jersey air traffic control center and requested permission to land, but when the aircraft was at 2300 feet, communication was lost and no information has been received since then.

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman could not comment further on the situation yet: "We are concerned about these news. We will wait for official information before saying anything else. Of course, we are worried about Emiliano Sala's safety."

The search for the missing aircraft is ongoing.

Cardiff signed the 28-year-old footballer from Nantes just last Saturday. He cost the club a record-breaking £15 million.
