FIFA has announced that the Brazilian football club "Corinthians" has 30 days to pay the remaining 8 million euros to the club for the striker Nilmar. Otherwise, the South American club faces sanctions.
The total value of the deal is 10 million euros, of which the South American club has only paid 20%, that is only 2 million.
"FIFA has confirmed that the Brazilian team must pay the remaining 8 million euros within 30 days," according to the official statement of the "Lyon" club. "If the amount is not paid within the remaining time, financial sanctions will be imposed."
Due to this debt, "Corinthians" will likely be forced to sell Nilmar, but it is not expected that he will return to the French champions.
"The FIFA commission has confirmed the player's contract with "Corinthians"," the statement reads. "The player will not return to France unless a mutual agreement is reached between both teams."
