Coronavirus shakes Spanish football: "Alaves" club reports 15 cases of infection

Victorija's "Deportivo Alaves" together with the basketball club "Baskonia" conducted COVID-19 virus tests for all players, coaches, and club employees, from which 15 were positive.

All 15 cases were identified in the "Alaves" team, which competes in the "La Liga" championship. Not a single test in the basketball team was positive.

As stated on the official website, 3 infections were detected in players, 7 in the coaching staff, and the remaining 5 in administrative employees.

The announcement also added that none of the infected showed any symptoms.

"Alaves" became the third "La Liga" club where infections of COVID-19 have been diagnosed. Valencia and Barcelona's Espanyol have also reported cases in their camps.

Overall in Spain, the coronavirus has been detected in more than 13,000 people, with the number of deaths already exceeding 550.
