Costa Rican coach resigns from national team for an unusual reason

In South America, well-known football specialist Gustavo Matosas has decided to leave his position as head coach of the Costa Rican national team for a rather unusual reason.

The 52-year-old strategist stepped down from his post simply because the job with the national team became too boring for him.

"I did not think that working with the national team would be so boring," said the Uruguayan born in Argentina at his press conference.

G. Matosas became the coach of the Costa Rican national team last autumn. He led the team for just under a year in eight matches, including their appearance in the North and Central American Championship this summer.

Prior to becoming the coach of Costa Rica, the Uruguayan had managed as many as 15 clubs.
