Former "Barcelona" player and coach Charly Rexach believes that the current team star Lionel Messi should feel more gratitude towards the Catalan team.
Yesterday it was announced that the 29-year-old Argentine once again refused to sign a new contract with the team and most likely demands an even higher salary.
"I think if Messi hadn't come to 'Barça', he wouldn't have become what he is now. For a great player, it is a huge advantage to play in such a team when the whole team is built around him.
Perhaps he would have been a great footballer elsewhere, but without the current world-class reputation," Rexach said.
"Messi not playing for 'Barcelona' club would cost him the title of the best footballer on the planet. Such a situation is unfolding in the Argentine national team, where everything revolves around Messi."
