Crimean football clubs will play in the Russian championship

The executive committee of the Russian Football Federation has decided to admit Crimean clubs to the second Russian league from the 2014-2015 season.

Three clubs were admitted - Sevastopol's "SKCHF", Yalta's "Pearl" and Simferopol's TSC.

"This decision was not unexpected. On Thursday, consultations lasted about six hours, and in the evening it was decided," said gazeta.ru source.

The annexation of Sevastopol and Crimean football federations to the Russian Football Federation will be discussed at the next meeting. FIFA and UEFA recommended postponing the decision.

In March, Russia officially annexed the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol.
