Croatian legend Z.Boban: "C.Ronaldo is a narcissistic self-lover"

Kroatian football legend Zvonimir Boban has criticized Portugal's star player Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal was eliminated from the World Cup after the group stage, while the leader of Real Madrid remained in his own shadow, wrote lrytas.lt

However, the 45-year-old goalkeeper, who filled the "Sportske Novosti" section, knows what caused the Portuguese failure.

"C. Ronaldo is an amazing player, as he proved in Brazil. However, his biggest problem is how he sees himself and the team," wrote Z. Boban.

According to the Croatian, C. Ronaldo is self-absorbed. Boban found amusement in the forward's behavior in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.

"Celebrating the fourth goal in the 120th minute, C. Ronaldo looked like a madman. This is clear evidence that he is self-absorbed. The focus should be on the team, not C. Ronaldo," reasoned the Croatian.

According to the former footballer, C. Ronaldo's narcissism infected the entire Portuguese team.

"There was no discipline in the team. All the members of the Portuguese team played their own football. They were more concerned about their hairstyles and tattoos. This is Hollywood behavior," criticized Z. Boban.

The Croatian did not spare criticism for the Italian national team, which also did not advance past the group stage.

"In recent years, Italian football has become a circus of mediocrity. It seemed like the Italians didn't know what to do on the field. Italy used to know how to win, but it seems like they forgot. With such a weak defense, slow defenders, and a foolish striker like Mario Balotelli, Italy lost its identity," criticized Z. Boban, including another European football star.
