C.Ronaldo: "I never said that such an average team could become a champion"

The World Football Championship in Brazil is unfolding very unsuccessfully for the Portuguese national team and their leader Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal is plagued by injuries, having scored only one point in two matches and are on the edge of the abyss. After the match against the USA, team leader C.Ronaldo stated that Portugal is just an average team, unable to compete for the championship. In the first championship match, Germany defeated Portugal 4-0, and in the second match, Portugal barely managed to draw with the USA in the last moments. "Maybe we are just an average team. It would be a lie to say that we are among the best. We have many limitations, and we suffer from losses, such as Pepe's red card or Fabio Coentrao's injury. This greatly restricts us, so we are not in the best form, and we can compare ourselves to top-class teams," said C.Ronaldo. Portugal's national team leader was plagued by injuries before the championship, and it was announced that the forward would not be able to play. However, C.Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes in both matches, and in the match against the USA, he made a great assist to Varela in the last moments. "There are no miracles. We knew that the World Cup would be very difficult for us, with teams that are probably better than us. I never thought we could become world champions; we have to be honest and understand our level. I never said we could win," said C.Ronaldo after the second unsuccessful match.
