C.Ronaldo: "We leave Brazil with our heads held high"

The Portugal national football team unexpectedly ended their visit to Brazil early. The Portuguese footballers defeated Ghana 2:1 in the last group stage match of Group G, but this was not enough to push the US team out of second place.

"We did everything we could," - said the biggest star of the team Cristiano Ronaldo after the last Portuguese match in Brazil.

During the World Cup, he scored only one goal in three matches. The leader of Real Madrid felt the effects of his injury and did not perform at his best.

"Considering how many opportunities we had, we deserved more. But we leave Brazil with our heads held high," - assured C. Ronaldo.

According to him, the Portuguese team could have beaten Ghana by a larger margin.

C. Ronaldo may be shining at his club, but he is still far from achieving the same success with the national team.

"Perhaps we are a mediocre team. I would be lying if I said we belong to the elite. We are a limited team and we suffered from many injuries in Brazil. And miracles do not happen. Our opponents were better," - the forward revealed about the Portuguese team.

The 29-year-old player stated that he never thought this team could win the World Cup.

Some football experts even suggested that C. Ronaldo should retire from the national team and focus only on the club season.
