Italian team defender Clarence Seedorf has stated that he is playing better than ever before as the final Champions League matches against the club "Liverpool" are approaching next week.
C. Seedorf remains the only football player to have won the Champions League three times with different clubs. In the 1994-1995 season, he triumphed representing the "Ajax" club, in 1997-1998 - Real Madrid, and in 2002-2003 - the "Milan" team.
“Some call me fine wine. It is important to strive for improvement every year for oneself, otherwise I don't see why I should still be playing at this level,” the 31-year-old player said in an interview with "Reuters."
“I am happy to be part of a system where you commit yourself to seeking victories,” the Dutchman said, relying on his considerable experience of high-level matches.
C. Seedorf scored a great goal in the semi-final match against "Man Utd." The defender has played against English teams before, but unlike his fellow countrymen, he has never represented an English club.
Although last week the Brazilian star of "Milan," Kaka, stated that "Liverpool" likes to play with long passes, when asked why he never played for any English team, C. Seedorf responded that it certainly wasn't because of the English playing style.
“Fate is fate. Sometimes it doesn't help you at all. About 12 years ago, I had the opportunity to move to Real Madrid, Man Utd, or Arsenal. I chose Real. There are no specific reasons why,” the football player recalled his earlier career.
The former Dutch national team defender said he is ready to stay in the "Milan" team for the rest of his career and claims that he doesn't feel regret for not having played in any English club: "England is a wonderful country, with a great atmosphere and great opponents. But you can't have it all."
