Three matches of the first round were played on Sunday in the Russian "Premier" league. Moscow clubs "CSKA" and "Torpedo" started the new season with victories at home, while in one match no goals were scored.

"CSKA" played at their stadium against last season's surprise in the country cup and league debutant Grozny's "Terek" club. The army team had no major problems and crushed their opponents with a score of 3-0 - three legionnaires scored goals I.Olic, D.Carvalho and E.Rahimich, while D.Semberas played the whole match.

"Torpedo" also had no major difficulties, as they defeated last season's outsider "Rostov" at home. The hosts were already leading 2-0 in the fifth minute of the match, and the away team's players were left with ten men. In the 68th minute, I.Semshov added another goal, and immediately after that, B.Mnguni reduced the difference. M.Samusiov was not registered for the match.

In other matches, Ramenskoye's "Saturn" was unable to defeat Kazan's "Rubin" at home and the match ended in a draw. The new "Rubin" acquisition O.Buitkus was not included in the team's lineup this time.
