In the only match of the fourteenth round of the Russian Premier League on Thursday evening, the champions Moscow CSKA secured a victory at home and returned to the top of the league table.

In the sixteenth minute, Milos Krasic scored to put the Army club ahead, and the guests managed to equalize only in the second half when Andrey Ospeshinskiy scored. However, CSKA soon regained their one-goal advantage when Ivica Olic scored.

In the 45th minute, Aleksandras Tichonovetskis ("Luch-Energia") was sent off the field.

With just over ten minutes remaining in the match, CSKA could have secured the victory, but the most productive Russian championship football player, Brazilian Jo, missed an eleven-meter penalty.

Lithuanian national team defender Deividas Šemberas played for the Army club from the beginning of the match until the 72nd minute.

This was CSKA's eighth victory of the season, allowing them to return to the top of the league table. However, they can still be overtaken by Nalchik and Spartak Moscow, who have played fewer matches.
