Maskvos "CSKA" club fans will remember the year 2005 for a long time - the graduates of Valerijus Gazajev not only won the UEFA and Russian Cups this year, but also secured gold medals in the country's championship. In the capital derby on Saturday, they secured the first place in the Russian Premier League together with Lithuanian legionnaire Deividas Šemberas by defeating "Dinamo".

With two rounds left in the championship, "CSKA" had a four-point advantage over the closest pursuers Moscow clubs "Spartak" and "Lokomotiv", so in order to remain unharmed, the "army men" just needed to win against "Dinamo".

Although the first half of the match ended goalless, after ten minutes in the second half, "CSKA" finally broke through the opponent's defense - after a melee in the penalty area, Aleksey Berezutskiy sent the ball into the net from a few meters away.

Playing as visitors, "CSKA" confidently moved towards victory and in the 73rd minute Daniel Carvalho doubled the score, receiving an accurate pass from Yevgeni Aldonin and elegantly bypassing Nuno who had come out of the goal. Carvalho was close to scoring his second goal soon after, but his shot from the penalty spot hit the crossbar.

Due to the smoke released by the fans in the stadium, the referee decided to add seven extra minutes, and right at the end, "Dinamo" player Denis Kolodin scored a precise long-range goal, but it did not impact the outcome - "CSKA" won and became the Russian champions for the second time in three years.

In the winning team, a Lithuanian played the entire match, which was also his second gold medal in the Russian championship in his career. This season in the Premier League, the defender constantly played in the starting lineup of his team and has already played 27 matches, coming off the bench in five of them.
