D. Alli on R. Sterling's downfall: "It wasn't intentional action"

London's "Tottenham" unexpectedly secured a victory at home against the "Manchester City" team on Sunday.

From the start of the match, emotions were high, and in the 12th minute Raheem Sterling committed a harsh foul against Dele Alli, but the match referee Mike Dean did not have the courage to send off the "City" forward after a VAR review.

R. Sterling and D. Alli discussed the incident on the field after the match, and the "Tottenham" midfielder later told journalists that his teammate from the English national team would not intentionally behave that way.

"I did not see a replay of the incident, but the referee and his VAR team decided that the action was not worth a red card.

Sterling is a good friend of mine and he would not intentionally behave that way. Sometimes things like this happen in football. It was not intentional," explained D. Alli after the match.
