After a victory against "Sevilla" in the Spanish Cup tournament, "Barcelona" defender Dani Alves reminded everyone that he has won more titles than his legendary compatriot Pele.
The 33-year-old defender has won 23 titles just with "Barcelona," including six "La Liga" trophies and three Champions League titles. Before that, among the five titles he won with "Sevilla," he had triumphed twice in the UEFA Cup. Additionally, Alves had also won regional tournament titles with "Bahia" in Brazil.
In a joking manner, the defender taunted the legendary Pele, reminding him that he has more titles in his collection.
"Pele, you are a king. A king. But I have won more titles than you. But relax, there's nothing to worry about. If you want to criticize me – go ahead, but I am happy. They say history is everything in football. If that's true, everything is going perfectly. Tell my story now, because I don't want to know anything else about football. Now I will become the chief," said Alves in a video posted on his Instagram account.
Although Alves can boast of numerous trophies in club football, he has only won one "Copa America" and two Confederations Cup titles with the Brazilian national team. In terms of success at the national team level, he falls far behind Pele, who won the World Cup three times with the Brazilian national team.
