Despite his age, Dani Alves, who still demonstrates excellent athletic form, revealed that this summer he could have easily reached agreements with elite European teams.
The 36-year-old defender, who won the "Copa America" championship this summer, decided to return to his homeland and wear the jersey of the "Sao Paulo" team after saying goodbye to Paris Saint-Germain.
Brazilian revealed that this summer he had the opportunity to return to two former teams.
"I had the chance to return to Juventus," the defender said in a "Players Tribune" video. "There was also the opportunity with Barca, because I myself wanted that."
"I don't make decisions suddenly. I always ask myself: 'What will this club give me, will this place make me a better person and professional?'," added the Brazilian.
Alves also revealed that his plans still include the 2022 World Cup.
"What I wanted was the main focus when choosing a new club. I wanted to be sure that I would have chances to fight for a spot in the 2022 World Cup.
Most clubs couldn't offer me that because they believe I have a certain expiration date. Since the beginning of my career, I've told myself that I am free. I decided when to start my career, I will decide when to finish it," added the Brazilian.
